Hazardous Waste Sites
Our country is now home to over 1400 Superfund sites (places that are considered hazardous by the EPA). According to a recent study by the California Birth Defects Monitoring Program, mothers living within a quarter mile of a superfund site had higher incidence of some heart and neural tube defects.
